Job Summary

To unlock the power of entrepreneurs worldwide, CARE and the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth (the Center) launched Ignite in 2020 with funding from the Mastercard Impact Fund. This global partnership dramatically accelerated the growth of enterprises while advancing financial security and promoting inclusive growth. Through the Ignite program, CARE supported 45,000 entrepreneurs to secure loans from financial service providers (FSPs) and strengthened the capacity of 3,200 entrepreneurs in Karachi, Hyderabad, Multan, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gujranwala and Rawalpindi.

Strive Women, a four-year program, strengthens the financial health of women-led small businesses in Pakistan, Peru, and Vietnam. Working with local partners, Strive Women uses women-centered design to deliver tailored financial products and support services, including digital skills building and network strengthening. The program addresses unique barriers faced by women-led businesses while testing innovations in sustainable business practices and childcare, which both disproportionately impact women. CARE activates local ecosystems to make market systems work for women entrepreneurs. While directly supporting over 300,000 entrepreneurs to build financial resilience, manage and grow businesses, gain confidence, and improve quality of life, Strive Women aims to reach over 6 million entrepreneurs through its campaigns. In Pakistan, the program aims to reach 1.5 million entrepreneurs through campaigns while directly supporting over 100,000 entrepreneurs (70% women) to grow their businesses and increase their economic potential.

Job Responsibilities and Tasks 

1- Technical Support: (50% of time)

• Support the Digital Financial Inclusion Advisor/ team lead on Strive Women program deliverables by coordinating resources (personnel and material).
• Plan and implement program activities including field research, prototype development and testing and partnership workshops with Financial Service Provider partners.
• Plan and coordinate events and/or regular meetings with partners.
• Act as a liaison for Strive Women with program partners and stakeholder and collect, organize, monitor, and distribute information related to the Strive Women program.
• Organize/ arrange boot camps as per workplan.
• Organize/ arrange exposure visits of entrepreneurs for the to ensure the cross learning development and designing of mentorship for women enterprisers.
• Arrange exhibitions at provincial level.
• Development of concept notes, scope of work for each modality
• Manage the details of overall schedule, budget, and deliverables.
• Development of TORs to engage consultants for trainings and event arrangement.

2- Reporting and Coordination: (45% of time)

• Maintain updates on program implementation, in particular through accurate monthly progress reports as required by CARE.
• Provide support to Digital Financial Inclusion Advisor/team lead by writing technical reports according to partner, government and donor requirements.
• Contribute and provide insights into fundraising efforts related to the scope of economic empowerment.
• Regularly coordinate with partners, visit partner office and program sites on monthly basis (additional visits as essential).
• Collaborate with different partners and stake holders of ecosystem.
• Coordinate with different departments such as MEAL, Coms, procurement & admin for the timely and impact full implementation.
• Development of presentation for the donor meetings and progress review meetings.
• Ensure good coordination and collaboration among strive team to ensure the harmonised efforts to reach the goals.
• Provide support to the MEAL team to ensure researches, studies to guage the impact of program and to guide the program.
• Ensure support to the comes to engage right entrepreneur for the testimonial and success stories.
- Engage financial institutes in the training to support the financial inclusion component of the program.

3- Other responsibilities as assigned: (05% of time)

  • Any other tasks or responsibilities based on organizational and programming needs as assigned by the Line Manager.

 A) Qualifications (Know How)

- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Banking, Finance, Economics, International Development, or comparable academic qualification is preferred.

B) Experience/ Technical Skills 

- Minimum 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in entrepreneurship development, capacity building, financial inclusion, or program coordination within INGOs, donor-funded projects, or private sector initiatives.

- Training & Facilitation: Proven ability to design, organize, and deliver trainings and skill-building workshops, including financial literacy, business development, and sector-specific skills, for diverse groups of women entrepreneurs.

- Planning & Coordination: Strong experience in program planning, budgeting, and coordination with implementing partners, financial institutions, and government stakeholders.

- Monitoring & Evaluation: Exposure to MEAL processes, including baseline studies, FGDs, financial health frameworks.

- Technical Skills: Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), digital collaboration tools, and data management for reporting and analysis.

- Communication & Representation: Advanced skills in written communications, report writing, and presentation, with experience representing projects at donor, partner, and stakeholder forums.

- Languages: Fluency in English and Urdu (written and spoken); proficiency in regional languages is an asset.

- Other Skills: Strong capacity in event management, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development to promote market linkages and program visibility.
