Job Profile: A dynamic and community-driven professional with expertise in education, livelihood, and mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) programming. Skilled in community mobilization, stakeholder engagement, and capacity building, with a proven track record of fostering inclusive participation and sustainable development. Adept at implementing conflict-sensitive approaches, facilitating awareness campaigns, and promoting community-based solutions to address education, economic, and mental health challenges. Committed to protecting human rights and upholding organizational values of integrity, service, and accountability. Fluent in local languages and well-versed in data collection, reporting, and program monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

Education Component:

  • Conduct school assessments and select schools based on approved criteria.
  • Facilitate enrollment campaigns, ensuring the enrollment and retention of out-of-school children (OOSC) from both host and Afghan refugee communities.
  • Regularly visit government primary schools to provide technical support to teachers and ensure effective learning environments.
  • Provide on-the-job support and mentoring to staff in Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) centers.
  • Identify missing facilities in schools and report findings to the Education Officer.
  • Strengthen Parent-Teacher Councils (PTCs) by organizing capacity-building sessions and maintaining proper training records.
  • Promote community engagement in education activities through Afghan/Active Community Forum (ACF) formation and strengthening.

Livelihood Component:

  • Conduct community meetings with collaboration of Livelihood team focus group discussions (FGDs), and household assessments to identify potential beneficiaries for livelihood activities.
  • Support the identification of skill development opportunities and beneficiaries for vocational training programs with Livelihood team.
  • Facilitate the formation of community-based Active community forum (ACF) and provide technical support for their sustainability.
  • Build linkages between community members and service providers to foster sustainable economic initiatives.
  • Assist in mobilization for livelihoods programs, ensuring inclusive participation from diverse community groups.
  • Collect success stories, community feedback, and case studies to highlight project outcomes.

MHPSS Component:

  • To support regular awareness-raising sessions on mental health, psychosocial support, and protection principles.
  • To Facilitate community-based coping mechanisms through structured activities like problem-solving and stress management exercises.
  • Support in follow-up sessions with trained community volunteers to ensure sustainability of MHPSS interventions.
  • Collaborate with MHPSS teams to identify participants for individual or group counseling sessions.
  • Organize community awareness campaigns to reduce stigma and promote mental health services.

Additional Responsibilities-Hot line services:

  • Respond to Community Inquiries: Professionally attend to all incoming calls from community members, providing a respectful and empathetic first point of contact for the project.
  • Accurate Call Documentation: Meticulously record all call details and relevant information from community members into the designated system or logbook for accurate tracking and reporting.
  • Data Entry and Management: Efficiently enter and update caller information and query details in the project's database to ensure data integrity and facilitate easy retrieval.
  • Service Guidance and Facilitation: Provide clear information and guidance to community callers regarding the available services under the project, effectively facilitating their access to the appropriate support.

Behavior & Conduct:

  • Will ensure the highest standards of behavior inside and outside of work promotes the values in organization's code of conduct and safeguarding policies
  • Will be a model for ethical conduct standards for other team members
  • Will ensure own actions and the actions of the teams members they manage do not impact the safety of the organization's team and the vulnerable communities we serve

Person Specification:

Essential criteria:

  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including fluency in local languages.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with protection, human rights, livelihoods, and education principles.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Sensitivity to cultural norms, community dynamics, and conflict-sensitive approaches.
  • Computer Proficiency: Competence in MS Word and Excel for data entry and reporting.
  • Commitment: Dedication to community development and human rights principles.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively within the project’s target districts.
