Background and Context

The Pak Alliance for Maths and Science (PAMS) is a non-profit with a mandate to inform and advocate for a learning environment which keeps the interest of Pakistani students at the heart of policy and practice reform. PAMS has conducted research, piloted innovations, provides technical support to government entities, and advocates for education reform. The organization has head office in Islamabad, with Policy Units based in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Gilgit.

PAMS is undertaking the translation of its maths remediation materials into Pashto to enhance accessibility for a wider range of teachers and students across public schools. These materials include structured educational documents, and video scripts designed to support foundational maths learning in primary grades. 

In order to ensure high-quality and contextually appropriate translations, PAMS is seeking the services of experienced Pashto language translators with familiarity in education content. Selected translators will be responsible for delivering accurate, well-formatted Pashto versions of all content within a defined timeframe.

Scope of Work

The selected translator(s) will be responsible for translating educational materials from English to Pashto. These include:

  • Documents totaling 37-100 pages to be translated to Pashto

  • Video scripts for approximately 15-20 educational videos to be translate to Pashto

The final counts will be confirmed at the time of assignment. PAMS holds the right to distribute the content for translation(s) to multiple vendors based on the availability. 

The translated content must be:

  • Typed and formatted in editable Word format (.doc/.docx)

  • Linguistically accurate, free of spelling or grammatical errors

  • Consistent with commonly used educational terminology in Pashto

  • Culturally and contextually appropriate for government school learners and teachers

  • Reviewed and fully proofread prior to submission

PAMS will provide sample materials and reference documents and support in case of any content-specific queries.

Deliverables and Timeline

Translators will be expected to submit content in batches throughout the period, allowing for timely review and revisions.


  • Application Deadline: 10th September 2025

  • Contract Start Date: 12th September 2025

  • Completion Deadline: 30th September 2025


Quotation requirements

Applicants must submit a formal quotation (1-page soft copy in PDF format) that clearly includes:

  • Full name and contact details

  • Per-page rate for translation (typed)

  • Confirmation that rates are inclusive of all applicable taxes

  • Quotations must be signed 

  • Attach a sample of translation material: English to Pashto

  • An acknowledgement that the organization or the individual is available to complete the assignment (with feedback) by 30th September 2025

  • Emails should be titled: Pashto Translation Quotation 

  • Any proposals received after this date/time will not be accepted.

  • Application must include:

    • A formal quotation (as described above)

    • A sample of previous translation work or a sample based on provided content

  • Incomplete or late submissions will not be considered

  • Any request for clarification must be sent to the same email by 5th September, 2025. PAMS will respond to all queries (without disclosing the sender’s identity) by 6th September, 2025.
