Job Overview/Summary. 

The FFS Master Trainer is responsible for designing, developing, and standardizing Farmer Field School (FFS) curricula and training materials in alignment with project goals. The role focuses on building the technical and facilitation capacity of FFS Facilitators through Training of Facilitators (ToF) and continuous mentoring, while ensuring high-quality and consistent implementation of FFS methodology across all project locations. The Master Trainer provides technical guidance and backstopping to support the effective delivery of field-level training sessions and works to enhance the knowledge and skills of farmers in improved agricultural and livestock practices through structured learning approaches. Additionally, the role supports the planning, scheduling, and coordination of FFS activities in close collaboration with the project team, ensures compliance with project standards, guidelines, and donor requirements, and contributes to monitoring, documentation, and reporting of training outcomes and overall project progress

Major Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

Training Design & Delivery

  • Develop and implement training plans for FFS facilitators and field teams. 

  • Deliver Training of Facilitators (ToF) using participatory and adult learning methodologies. 

  • Ensure effective application of AESA (Agro-Ecosystem Analysis) in FFS sessions. 

Capacity Building

  • Strengthen the technical and facilitation skills of FFS facilitators. 

  • Conduct refresher trainings and on-the-job coaching for field staff. 

  • Ensure facilitators are equipped with the required knowledge and tools. 

Technical Support

  • Provide technical guidance on livestock management, climate-smart practices, and natural resource management. 

  • Support field teams in implementing FFS curriculum effectively. 

  • Ensure adoption of best practices at community level. 

Quality Assurance

  • Monitor the quality of FFS sessions and learning sites. 

  • Ensure standardization of training materials, manuals, and methodologies. 

  • Conduct field visits to assess performance and provide feedback. 

Coordination & Reporting

  • Coordinate with Team Leader and Project Manager on training plans and progress. 

  • Document training activities, reports, and outcomes. 

  • Share regular updates and recommendations for program improvement. 

Curriculum & Material Development

  • Develop or adapt training modules, manuals, and learning materials. 

  • Ensure training content aligns with project objectives and local context.


Other Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and donor requirements. 

  • Promote participatory approaches and inclusive community engagement. 

  • Participate in training and capacity-building initiatives. 

  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.


Job Specification:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s in Livestock, Agriculture, NRM, Animal Breeding & Genetics, Food Technology, or related field 

  • 5+ years’ experience in FFS, livestock systems, animal health, value chains, marketing, and NRM (preferably Balochistan) 

  • Certified in long-term FFS training 

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong expertise in AESA, participatory and problem-based learning 

  • Experience in ToF, curriculum development, and capacity building 

  • Strong facilitation, mentoring, and team supervision skills 

  • Solid M&E, data analysis, and documentation abilities 

  • Strong leadership, communication, and inclusive community engagement skills 

  • Commitment to climate-smart, sustainable, and innovative practices 

  • Knowledge of Balochistan’s socio-economic and cultural context 

  • English proficiency; additional UN language is an advantage


Language Skills:  

  • Fluent, professional level speaking, reading and writing in English Urdu and Pashto
