Job Summary: Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan seeks competent Lady Medical Officer for BHC Breep upper Chitral Module. The role includes providing outreach clinics, monitoring child and maternal health, supervising field teams, and ensuring the provision high-quality service to general population in collaboration with the program team. The role will play a pivotal role in educating mothers and the community in far flung areas to improve demand for health services.

Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan, is looking for a competent Lady Medical Officer based at Brep BHC-Chitral, in Chitral Region.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts general OPD to provide basic treatment in BHC
  • Conducts ANC, deliveries and PNC
  • Conducts specialized clinics through digital health
  • Plans and conducts monthly outreach clinic sessions with the support of program team,  in far flung and remote areas of to provide health services including NCD Screening, School health screening and screening of children under 2 years and mothers (especially pregnant women) and adult 
  • Assesses the medical and health needs of children, mothers and adult at outreach clinics/points and provide basic treatment.
  • Conducts awareness and counselling sessions on healthy nutrition, IYCF practices, family planning, regular ANC and PNC visits, institutional delivery and routine immunization with a focus on the coverage of zero dose, missed and defaulter children during monthly outreach clinics
  • identifies high risk and complicated pregnancies and malnourished children (SAM & MAM) and mothers With the support of LHV and ensures timely referral from field to the advanced care facilities.
  • Supervises and supports the field team in collecting, compiling, maintaining and reporting high quality immunization and nutrition data from the facility and field to supervisor and central office as necessary
  • Participates in monthly review meetings and training sessions to improve outreach health services
  • Maintains strong collaboration and coordination with all partners including the DoH, WHO/UNICEF to ensure the provision of high-quality immunization and nutrition services
  • Manages minor surgeries or medical procedures that may be required at the center level
  • Manages and treats acute and chronic diseases prevalent in the community, such as respiratory infections, diabetes, hypertension, and malaria.
  • Provides first aid and emergency medical care to patients in critical conditions.
  • Stabilizes patients and refers them to higher-level health facilities as needed.
  • Reports and tracks disease outbreaks and other public health concerns.
  • Ensures the proper follow-up for referred patients and track the outcome of treatment
  • Uphold ethical medical practice and organizational policies, including infection prevention standards
  • Performs other relevant tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor

Qualifications & Experience:

  • MBBS with valid PMDC license
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience and practical skills especially in MNCH, nutrition and immunization 
  • Should have a sound understanding and knowledge of Nutrition and MNCH and Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs)
  • Team player with an aptitude of working in a multidisciplinary team
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Good time management, communication and team-building skills
  • Ability to work under pressure with pressing deadlines
  • Should be polite, respectful and courteous to the patients, community and to those who are in authority.
  • Ability to speak and understand local languages
