Job Purpose
The Supervisor – Lady Health Visitor (LHV) is responsible for overseeing and supporting field-based Lady Health Visitors and outreach teams to ensure high-quality delivery of family planning, post-abortion care (PAC), and reproductive health services. The role ensures compliance with clinical standards, ethical guidelines, and project objectives while strengthening community awareness and service uptake.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supervision & Team Management

Supervise and mentor LHVs and outreach staff providing family planning and post-abortion services.

Conduct regular field visits and performance evaluations.

Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, infection prevention standards, and counseling guidelines.

Provide on-the-job coaching and supportive supervision.

Organize regular team meetings and review sessions.
2. Service Delivery Oversight

Ensure provision of quality family planning counseling and services (short-term and long-term methods).

Oversee post-abortion care services, including counseling, referral, and follow-up.

Ensure informed consent and confidentiality in all services.

Monitor availability and proper use of contraceptive supplies and medical equipment.

Coordinate referral mechanisms for complications or specialized care.
3. Training & Capacity Building

Identify training needs of LHVs and organize refresher trainings.

Ensure staff are updated on national family planning guidelines and PAC protocols.

Support continuous professional development of team members.
4. Community Engagement

Support community awareness sessions on family planning, birth spacing, and post-abortion care.

Coordinate with community leaders, health facilities, and stakeholders.

Address myths, misconceptions, and stigma related to family planning and abortion care.
5. Monitoring & Reporting

Maintain accurate service delivery records and documentation.

Compile monthly/quarterly performance reports.
-
Ensure timely submission of data to the Project Manager.

Monitor key indicators related to contraceptive uptake and post-abortion follow-up.
6. Compliance & Quality Assurance

Ensure compliance with national reproductive health policies and organizational SOPs.

Maintain infection prevention and control (IPC) standards.
-
Ensure ethical practices and patient safety standards are upheld.
Qualifications & Experience

Diploma in Lady Health Visitor (LHV) from a recognized institution.
-
Valid professional registration with relevant regulatory authority.
-
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in family planning and reproductive health programs.
-
At least 1–2 years of supervisory experience preferred.

Experience in post-abortion care services is highly desirable.

Strong knowledge of contraceptive methods and counseling techniques.
