General mission

The intern will assist the Technical Head of Program in conducting a comprehensive analysis of migration and displacement dynamics in Pakistan and in developing a strategic framework to guide Handicap International’s interventions

Missions / responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive review and analysis of existing migration and displacement policies, programmes, and practices at national and regional levels.

  • Identify gaps, challenges, and opportunities for integrating disability-inclusive approaches into migration-related interventions.

  • Collect and synthesize secondary data from government reports, UN agencies, NGOs, and other relevant sources.

  • Support the Technical Head of program in drafting a strategic framework or guidance note on migration programming for Organization Pakistan.

  • Prepare briefings, reports, and presentations for internal use and stakeholder consultations.

  • Assist in mapping stakeholders, including government authorities, NGOs, UN agencies, and migrant-focused organizations.

  • Ensure that recommendations align with HI global standards, protection principles, and disability-inclusive programming.

Learning Opportunities

  • Gain hands-on experience in migration and displacement programming within an international NGO context.

  • Develop skills in research, policy analysis, and strategic planning.

  • Exposure to disability-inclusive humanitarian approaches and multi-stakeholder coordination.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Recently graduated from a relevant field (e.g., Migration Studies, Humanitarian Affairs, International Development).

  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.

  • Knowledge of migration, displacement, and disability-inclusive programming is an advantage.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data presentation tools.

  • Excellent communication skills in English; knowledge of Urdu or local languages is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively under supervision.
