The intern will support the Technical Unit in conducting analysis and drafting a strategic framework for DRR and climate change adaptation, ensuring the integration of disability inclusion and vulnerability considerations. |
Missions / responsibilities
-
Conduct a comprehensive review and analysis of existing DRR and climate change adaptation interventions, policies, and strategies at national and sub-national levels.

Identify gaps, opportunities, and best practices for integrating disability-inclusive DRR and climate adaptation approaches into INGO Pakistan programmes.

Collect and synthesize relevant secondary data, including government reports, research papers, and NGO/INGO reports.

Support the Technical Head of Program in drafting a strategic framework for DRR and climate change adaptation for HI Pakistan.

Prepare presentations, briefings, and summary reports for internal review and stakeholder consultations.

Assist in stakeholder mapping and coordination with government, NGOs, and UN actors relevant to DRR and climate adaptation.

Ensure alignment of recommendations and strategy with HI global standards and disability inclusion principles.

Exposure to strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and policy analysis in an international NGO context.
Required Qualifications and Skills
-
Recently graduated from a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Disaster Management, Climate Change).

Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.

Familiarity with DRR, climate change adaptation, and disability inclusion concepts preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data presentation tools.

Excellent communication skills in English; Urdu knowledge is a plus.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively under supervision.
Supervision and Reporting

The intern will report directly to the Technical Head of Program.

Regular supervision meetings will be held to review progress, provide guidance, and ensure alignment with Organization standards and priorities.
