Job Description:
The Field Supervisor will oversee and ensure the quality, effectiveness, and compliance of GBV and Child Protection training activities delivered by the Master Trainers. The role focuses on supervision, mentoring, quality assurance, coordination with SPO, and timely reporting from the field.
Main Responibilities:
Supervision and Quality Assurance:
- Supervise Master Trainers during field-based trainings and ensure adherence to approved training plans, methodologies, and content.
- Conduct spot checks and observe training sessions to assess quality, participation, and facilitation standards.
- Provide on-the-spot feedback and coaching to Master Trainers to improve delivery and engagement.
- Ensure trainings are delivered in line with project objectives, ethical standards, and safeguarding protocols.
Planning and Coordination:
- Review and endorse training schedules prepared by Master Trainers and share consolidated plans with SPO and the Gender and Protection Programme.
- Coordinate with district education offices, school administrations, and GBV focal persons to ensure smooth implementation of training activities.
- Support logistical planning for field activities in coordination with the program and operations teams.
Monitoring, Reporting, and Documentation:
- Review training materials, pre- and post-tests, and evaluation tools developed by Master Trainers before submission to SPO.
- Verify attendance sheets, training documentation, and GPS coordinates of training locations.
- Review draft training reports and provide feedback within agreed timelines.
- Consolidate field findings, challenges, and good practices into periodic supervision reports.
- Ensure data related to schools and GBV focal persons is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.
Technical Support and Problem Solving:
- Provide technical guidance to Master Trainers on GBV, child protection, referral pathways, and emergency response.
- Support Master Trainers in handling sensitive cases, disclosures, or safeguarding concerns, in line with SOPs and referral mechanisms.
- Troubleshoot field-level challenges, including coordination issues, participant concerns, and access constraints.
Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with SPO, relevant government departments, and partner organizations to ensure alignment and timely communication.
- Support relationship-building with public and private sector stakeholders working on GBV and child protection in the target areas.
- Facilitate coordination with GBV focal persons and support the use of WhatsApp groups for follow-up and ongoing engagement.
Compliance and Safeguarding:
- Ensure all activities comply with organizational policies, codes of conduct, confidentiality, and child safeguarding standards.
- Report any protection concerns, incidents, or breaches of conduct through the defined reporting channels.
Core Competencies and Skills:
- Strong communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor field teams.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
- High level of cultural sensitivity and ethical conduct.
- Ability to work under field conditions and manage multiple locations.
- Proficiency in English and Urdu; knowledge of Pashto and local languages of the target districts is an asset.
- Good communication skills in English, Urdu, Pashto and other local languages of the target districts including effective presentation skills
Deliverables:
- Approved training schedules and supervision plans.
- Supervision and observation notes for each field visit.
- Reviewed and finalized training reports from Master Trainers.
- Periodic supervision and quality assurance reports.
- Updated and verified database of schools and GBV focal persons
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Development Studies, Psychology, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- At least 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in GBV, child protection, training supervision, or program management.
- Strong experience in supervising field teams and ensuring quality of training delivery.
- Sound understanding of GBV core concepts, child protection frameworks, and referral mechanisms.
- Proven experience working with schools and education sector stakeholders is an asset.
- Strong coordination, mentoring, and problem-solving skills
